A Memorable Evening at Kenelm Lodge No. 8255

Report by W. Bro. John Legget, PSGD, PAsstProvGM

On Tuesday, 6th May 2025, I had the pleasure of attending Kenelm Lodge No. 8255 for a meeting that proved to be both significant and memorable.

The evening’s agenda was distinguished by two key events: the presentation of a 50-Year Certificate of Service to W Bro Paul Greek, PJGD, and a double Raising ceremony for Bro Hemang Dhulashia and Bro Govin Bharadia.

Following the approval and signing of the minutes by the Acting Worshipful Master, W Bro Paul Greek (in the absence of the Worshipful Master, who was unfortunately unwell), a report was received at the door.

W Bro Frankie Whelan-Mellor, PPrDepGDC, entered to announce that the Pro Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Allan, and Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Warren Gell, PJGD, were without and demanded admission. The distinguished Brethren were duly admitted and received with customary salutations, before taking their seats.

RW Bro David Allan then took the floor to present W Bro Paul Greek with his 50-Year Certificate of Service. His address was both heartfelt and entertaining, capturing highlights from W Bro Paul’s remarkable half-century of dedicated service to the Craft and to the Province. The tribute was warmly received by all in attendance.

Following the presentation, RW Bro David Allan retired, leaving W Bro Warren Gell to remain for the degree ceremony, accompanied by his Deputy Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro. Lloyd Bubb.

W Bro Paul Greek proceeded to Raise Bro Dhulashia and Bro Bharadia to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. Both Candidates acquitted themselves admirably, delivering their responses with precision and confidence.

The meeting was attended by 47 Brethren, with 43 staying to enjoy the conviviality of the Festive Board. The evening will surely be remembered for many years to come, not only for its ceremonial importance but also for the exemplary standard of ritual delivered by the Officers of the Lodge.
