Crafting 50 Years of Excellence

W Bro David Everett and RW Bro David Allan

A remarkable milestone in Middlesex Freemasonry was celebrated recently when RW Bro David Allan, Pro Provincial Grand Master, travelled to Devon to personally present a 50-year Certificate to W Bro David Everett, honouring his half-century of dedicated service to the Craft and the Royal Arch.

RW Bro Allan visited W Bro Everett and his wife Jean at their home in Exeter, where he presented both the certificate and commemorative badge in recognition of an exceptional Masonic career. Although now living in the Southwest of England, W Bro Everett remains a proud and long-standing member of Cedars of Lebanon Lodge and Cedars of Lebanon Chapter, where he has contributed significantly for decades.

Initiated on 1 February 1975 and exalted on 27 January 1979, W Bro Everett quickly established himself as a deeply committed Freemason. He served as Master of the Lodge in 1981 and again in 2014, and also held numerous offices, including an impressive 12-year term as Lodge Secretary. His dedication to the Royal Arch has been equally strong, having been installed as Most Excellent Zerubbabel on four separate occasions, a testament to the high regard in which he is held by his Companions.

His Masonic achievements have been recognised with senior Provincial honours in both Orders, including Past Provincial Junior Grand Warden (PPrJGW) in the Craft and Past Provincial Grand Registrar (PPrGReg) in the Royal Arch.

Beyond his administrative and ceremonial contributions, W Bro Everett is fondly remembered as a first-class mentor, always ready to guide and encourage newer members. His talents extend far beyond the lodge room, he is also known as a formidable golfer, once playing off a handicap of seven. Over the years he represented Middlesex on numerous occasions and secured several trophies for the Province.

Now aged 88, W Bro Everett continues to display the enthusiasm, energy, and sharp wit of a much younger man. His warmth, commitment, and unwavering support for his lodge and chapter have made him a much-loved and respected figure within Middlesex Freemasonry.

The Province offers W Bro Everett its warmest congratulations on reaching this distinguished milestone and extends heartfelt thanks for his five decades of loyal and exemplary service.
