Monday 4th December 2023 marked a very special day at the Lodge of Aspiration No 6086. A special for three reasons: the Raising of Bro. Xavier Boulanger, the presentation of a 50 Year Service Certificate and the presence of three current and past APGMs.
The Ceremony of Raising was carried out by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro Alan Tibber, which he shared with other Lodge members: W. Bro Ian Rose, W. Bro. Stephen Goldberg and W. Bro Brian Fisher, finishing off with the Walking Charge delivered by W. Bro Alan Peters. Then W. Bro Brian Fisher PSGD PAPGM had been Initiated on 1st November 1973 was presented with a 50-year Certificate by W. Bro Ian Ferguson PAGStdB APGM.
In his preamble to the presentation, W. Bro Ian mentioned many of W. Bro Brian’s attributes and his particular service to the Province including having served as Worshipful Master of the Lodge of Aspiration and also Temple of Athene Lodge in Middlesex, as well as First Principal of his Royal Arch Chapter. W. Bro Brian had also been involved with the launch of the New Masonic Samaritan Fund, and in the Province of Middlesex, has been a Visiting Officer, Provincial Grand Treasurer and an Assistant Provincial Grand Master.
Brian is currently Secretary of the Lodge of Aspiration. He is still in business, a family man and also involved with Scouting. He is a First Responder Life Support Instructor.
After the meeting, the members and guest retired to a delightful Festive Board where the Brother responding to the toast to the Visitors, W. Bro Barry Chippeck mentioned that at Brian’s Initiation, he was the Junior Deacon and that both of them had been Initiated by Brian’s late Dad. Another amazing piece of Brian’s Craft history and masonic serendipity.
