The Middlesex Shooting Sports Lodge 1702 held its Annual Charity Shoot in August 2024 at the Star Shooting Ground, where 29 participants joined the 100 “bird” clay shoot challenge.
Despite the wet weather in the preceding days, the event was blessed with no rain, even though the sun remained elusive. Participants, a mix of Masons and non-Masons, men and women, young and old, came together for a day filled with fun, competition, and camaraderie.
This year’s shoot raised an impressive £520 for the Worshipful Master’s chosen charity, The Country Food Trust. The trust is dedicated to addressing food poverty by providing high-protein, nutritious wild game meat meals to those in need. Their efforts include distributing these meals and vacuum-packed raw meat pouches to food banks and community kitchens across the UK. Supported by individuals, companies, trusts, and other charitable organisations, their work makes a significant impact on communities facing food insecurity.
