Bringing Freemasonry to the Heart of the Community

The Middlesex Masonic Exhibition Team was once again out in force on Sunday 29th June, proudly representing Freemasonry at the Staines-upon-Thames Day 2025 – a much-loved family fun day held at Staines Memorial Gardens.

A dedicated team comprising Guy Dunk, John Leggett, and Sam Huxster arrived bright and early at 9:00am to begin setting up our stand. With Guy ably taking the lead and Sam kindly bringing along the gazebo, the team had everything in place and ready by 10:30am – just in time for the official opening of the event.

We were fortunate to be perfectly positioned in a central spot between the Main Stage and the Dance Arena, ensuring a consistent flow of visitors throughout the day. The event itself was a vibrant celebration of community life, featuring everything from river displays, craft and charity stalls, and vintage cars, to circus performances, children’s activities, and the ever-popular duck races. Live music, plentiful food vendors, and an atmosphere of summer cheer made for an unforgettable day.

Our stand attracted a great deal of interest. Many members of the public stopped by to learn more about Freemasonry, take away leaflets, and engage in thoughtful conversation. Notably, we received three highly promising enquiries from individuals keen to discover more – all of whom have now been helped along the path to attending a future Discover Freemasonry event.

The glorious sunshine certainly helped draw the crowds – and also provided the perfect excuse for a well-earned ice cream or two for our hardworking ambassadors!

As the event wound down at around 5:00pm, the team packed away the stand and reflected on a day well spent. Special thanks go to W. Bro. John Leggett, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, for his continued support and tireless efforts – always working his usual magic and engaging with the public in his inimitable way.

We’re proud to have been part of such a successful community event and look forward to many more opportunities to share the message of Freemasonry in the public square.
