They’re anxious to try it.
Recently the Uxbridge Gazette headlined the fact that Charities were crying out for food underlying the vital importance of the Food Bank. As the cold winter months engulf us with freezing temperatures, there are those who have fallen outside of the safety net of having regular employment and may also be without permanent accommodation making the work of food banks critical. This becomes even more important in this season of festivity where some will go without sustenance and the warmth of a home environment.
During the Covid period Middlesex Masons rose to the occasion and there were many stories published outlining the important work done in supporting food banks locally.
The Brethren of both the Lodge of Sincere Friendship No 8548 and Uxbridge Lodge No 7066 and other units that meet at the Uxbridge Centre, are looking for support from Middlesex Masons to help support local food banks by donations of non-perishable foods which can be left at the Uxbridge Masonic Centre, Hercies Road, Hillingdon, UB10 9NA each day (Sunday excluded) between 3.00pm and 11.00pm. Bridget at the Centre will be pleased to receive your donations of food and the cut-off date is Friday 15th December.
Members of Lodge of Sincere Friendship will arrange for any donations to be collected from the Centre and delivered to the local Foodbanks.
