“As charity steward for Hampton Lodge, I recently had the pleasure in presenting two cheques for £1000 to local foodbanks.
Manna Food Bank in Staines
As the Lodge originally met in the centre in Staines and there are members who still live locally, this is the second time the Lodge had been able to help this particular foodbank. The donation was very gratefully received. They have a colour coded carrier bag system to ensure each family receive the correct set of groceries.
St Saviours Food Bank in Sunbury.
A number of Lodge members still work and live in Sunbury and by donating to this particular foodbank it was felt it gave us a local link. St Saviours, as well as providing a food bank, also have a “pop in” warm hub offering a meeting point with a hot meal and a cuppa. When I first went in to see them I really couldn’t believe how busy it was with a ladies knitting club, food being prepared and groups of people spending an hour or so in a comfortable warm place”.
