W. Bro Martin Burt ProvSGW of Everest Base Camp fame receives a cheque for £400 from the new Master of Harmony Lodge for the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices Charity – W. Bro Rafał Walczak
The May 2023 meeting of the Harmony Lodge No 5835 was a special occasion, but also tinged with some sadness. This was the third time a Polish member of the Lodge had been Installed into the Chair of King Solomon. Bro Rafał Walczak was Installed by his friend and fellow Pole, W Bro Marek Majewski ProvJGD. The plan in November 2014 had been for W. Bro Dariusz Walczak, Rafal’s father, to have Initiated his son and would also have been so proud to place Rafał in the Master’s Chair. Sadly, five days before the Lodge meeting Dariusz died from a terminal illness.
The Lodge welcomed W. Bro Martin Burt ProvSGW and were pleased to present a £400 cheque for the Shooting Star Childrens’ Hospices Charity. Martin has been actively engaged in fundraising for the Hospices and his exploits in reaching Everest Base Camp are shown in the link below.
