Provincial Ambassadors At St Margaret’s Fair

ST MARGARETS FAIR

A Report from Ambassador’s Team Member Keith Watson.

“Middlesex Freemasons were represented at St Margaret’s Fair on 8th July, held at Moorhead Park, which is just around the corner from Cole Court Masonic Centre. The Fair consisted of live music, a dog show and a varied selection of stalls selling homemade cakes, jams and ceramics to giving mortgage advice.

The Provincial stand was manned for the day by ambassadors Michael Emmett, team leader supported by Keith Watson and Richard Emerton.

Sunny weather from the previous day was replaced by a forecast for thunderstorms which luckily stayed away, but there was heavy rain for the first few hours, but as it was warm, this didn’t keep visitors away for too long.

During the course of the day there was a steady stream of interest and questions asked about Freemasonry and passing Brethren stopped by for a chat. As with other events this year, there had been a lot of interest from ladies requesting information about women’s freemasonry.

Several interest forms were completed including from two strapping 6’4″ brothers who were very keen and showed huge interest in joining.  Asking if they could apply, the team was surprised to find out they were 17 and 15 years old. However, they still they completed the forms, so it maybe a few years away, but potentially two new members.

It was a successful day altogether. The main fair finished at 5pm with the live music carrying on until late in the evening.”
