On Saturday 1st November on the day of England versus Australia Rugby Match at Twickenham, the Community Engagement Team, comprising Iain Raymond and Keith Gregory, attended this Masonic outreach event at TDMC with the rugby community who used the facilities of the Centre before and after the match The members of the team arrived in the morning to set up the gazebo and associated equipment, taking up the familiar position on the lawn at the top of the path leading into the Centre. The weather was pleasant for most of the day, with rain holding off until mid-afternoon when a few light showers passed through. Fortunately, the gazebo dried sufficiently before it had to be packed away.
Although visitor numbers to the stand were relatively low, the team’s presence once again contributed to raising awareness of the Community Engagement Team—one of its key objectives. However, the important thing was sowing the seeds for the future and to nurture valuable connection within the community.
The team was delighted to receive a surprise visit from W. Bro Paul Sully, Provincial Assistant Grand Master, accompanied by W. Bro Perry Roper who kindly provided the two team members with a Celsius Peach Vibe energy drink, which they said was most enjoyable and much appreciated.
