The Teddies Go Marching On

Support Teddy (1)

Earlier this year (2023) the following was published highlighting a request for support to the TLC Charity particularly in the Province of Middlesex:

Middlesex Masons reached a significant milestone in the quest for charitable excellence. On Wednesday 15th February the Nursing staff at the paediatric unit within the North West Middlesex’s A&E department received the 30,000th Teddies for Loving Care (TLC) teddy bear since the Province joined the scheme back in 2005.  This is a magnificent achievement, but this is just touching the surface of what might be accomplished if the spirit of TLC reached the heart of every Middlesex Mason. Surely our hearts of go out to those youngsters who for whatever reason are traumatised by an emergency visit to a hospital. This is where the Teddies come in. It is quite amazing the soothing effect of a Teddy given to a chid in distress which then helps doctors and nurses get on with their job and the parents to breathe a sigh of relief as the Teddy take over as the focal point. It is always a joy to see the children embrace a new teddy bear as it becomes a new friend for them and can bring comfort at a critical time”.

The Organisers have now published their Report for the last masonic year, and this has been compiled by Middlesex Masons. Please take the opportunity to read of the wonderful work that has been done. Lodge Secretaries and Chapter Scribes E have been sent this for onward transmission to members of their units. If you missed it please click to access the report.

The Teddies go marching on and this is an ongoing cause and the continued support from Lodges and Chapters in the Province is very much appreciated.
