Around sixty children and adults recently enjoyed an inspiring Wheelchair Sports Experience Day, proudly funded by the Middlesex Freemasons. The event, organised in partnership with WheelPower, brought together professional coaches, WheelPower staff, and a dedicated team of Middlesex volunteers to deliver an unforgettable day of sport, fun, and personal achievement.
For many of those taking part, it was their first ever opportunity to try wheelchair-based sports. Under expert guidance, participants experienced a range of activities designed to build confidence, encourage teamwork, and showcase the power of sport to unite people of all abilities. The atmosphere was electric throughout, with plenty of smiles, laughter, and encouragement echoing around the venue.
Events like this exemplify the Masonic values of charity, community spirit, and inclusion. By supporting initiatives that break down barriers and promote accessibility, the Province of Middlesex continues to demonstrate its commitment to making a real difference in the local community.
Special thanks are due to all those who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success — in particular, the volunteers who worked tirelessly to support participants and ensure everything ran smoothly.
Those who helped on the day included:
Don Campbell (Vice Chairman, MMSA)
Ruel Lawrence (Secretary, MMSA)
Chris Beavers (Treasurer, MMSA)
Deepak Damodarr
Felix Matthew-Brown
Rodger McPerson
Sailesh Mehta
Peter Swan
The Province extends its gratitude to everyone involved and looks forward to supporting similar events in the future. Keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities to get involved and help make a difference through sport and community engagement.
