Ruislip St Martin’s Lodge No. 9125 was delighted to welcome VW Bro Jim Mitchell, PGSwdB, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, on Monday 21st September, accompanied by W Bro Justin Purcell, PJGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, and W Bro Lloyd Bubb, PProvDepGDC, for a very special presentation evening.
The purpose of the visit was to present two distinguished members of the Lodge with Certificates recognising their extraordinary commitment to Freemasonry: W Bro George Proctor for 70 years’ service and W Bro Peter Binstead for 50 years’ service.
After entering the Lodge, VW Bro Jim Mitchell took the Chair of King Solomon and invited both recipients to join him on the floor of the Temple for a warm and engaging conversation reflecting on their Masonic journeys. This informal approach gave the Brethren present a unique opportunity to hear first-hand recollections of decades of service to the Craft.
W Bro George Proctor was initiated in 1955 and has been a member of Ruislip St Martin’s Lodge since 1999, serving as Lodge Chaplain since 2006. Over the course of his distinguished Masonic career, he has received several Provincial promotions, culminating in the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden.
W Bro Peter Binstead was initiated in 1976 and joined Ruislip St Martin’s Lodge in 2005. A highly respected member of the Lodge, he has served as Worshipful Master on three occasions and has made a significant contribution through his leadership, charitable work and commitment to the wider Province, receiving promotion to Past Provincial Senior Grand Deacon.
Presenting the certificates, VW Bro Jim paid tribute to the dedication, loyalty and example both Brethren have shown throughout their Masonic lives. Their combined 120 years of service represent a remarkable achievement and embody the enduring values of Freemasonry.
The Lodge extends its sincere congratulations to both George and Peter on reaching these significant milestones and thanks them for their outstanding service to the Craft.
Together, their 120 years of commitment provide an inspiring example for present and future generations of Freemasons.
