Members and Guests at Parthenon Lodge
Parthenon Lodge No 7310 held a very special meeting at Southgate Masonic Centre on the 22nd September, with guests from a number of Provinces visiting to watch a triple Initiation. This was further enhanced with an official visit by the APGM W. Bro Andy Wright. The pomp and ceremony made for an extraordinary memory for all the candidates.
One of the Initiates, Ryan Wilson, also happened to be a Lewis making him the fourth generation of his family to be a member of the Lodge. This was particularly poignant as this meeting was exactly 30 years to the day when his father, Deryck Wilson and his uncle, Paul Doran, were jointly Initiated. From the feedback on the night the meeting went well with most of the members taking an active role in the ceremony which included ‘The long Apron’ and the ‘Presentation of Gloves’.
The Festive Board followed where the Tyler, Julian Barterer entertained the diners with magic tricks throughout the meal, culminating in him leading a demonstration of the ‘Initiates Chain’ to the enjoyment of all, particularly some of the visitors who were participating in it for the first time.’
Some of the visitors were much impressed by the proceedings that enquiries were made about becoming Joining members.
