A Family Affair

Brother Darren Webster with his son Ibi

Brother Darren Webster is a member of Osterley Lodge No 6430. He was introduced to freemasonry through the Provincial membership scheme (Twickenham), initiated in 2023 and is currently a Fellow Craft.

Darren’s son Ibrahim (Ibi to his friends) wanted to do something in honour of his late sister and decided to embark upon a charity walk on 22nd June, the birthday anniversary of his late sister. So, he decided to raise money for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and set a target of £120. Ibi, aged 11, and Darren set off at 09:00 to walk from Teddington to Charing Cross and completed the 20km walk in 4 hours 20 mins.

Ibi, a pupil of Ibstock Place School in Roehampton raised a very impressive £565, beating his initial target by 470%. Both father and son are to be congratulated, not only for raising such an impressive sum, but also in providing us an excellent example of the balance between freemasonry and family Life.

For any brethren who’d like to donate, the just giving page is still open.

Young Ibi is to be commended for the great effort in completing the walk and for the amazing sum of money raised for the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
