Barra Hall Lodge No 8096 Summer BBQ Fun for the Festival!

Barra Hall Lodge No. 8096 held a highly successful Summer BBQ on Saturday 25th July, with family and friends gathering at Lindford Village Hall in Bordon, Hampshire for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and fundraising in support of the Middlesex 2031 Festival.

The event was organised by W Bro Brian Bolla, Lodge Charity Steward and Festival Steward, ably supported by the Bolla family and a dedicated team of helpers. Under glorious summer weather, guests enjoyed an impressive feast featuring 20kg of pork and 20kg of chicken, accompanied by the traditional raffle and an enthusiastic session of karaoke that proved popular with all ages.

Fundraising efforts were outstanding, with a total of £641 raised for the Lodge’s Festival chest:

  • £221 from ticket sales after expenses
  • £350 from the raffle, with the grand prize of 50% off next year’s Lodge
  • subscriptions won by W Bro Joey Crisostomo
  • £70 from a lively game of Heads and Tails, with a set of six square and compass engraved whisky tumblers as the prize

The success of the day has already inspired plans for next year’s Summer BBQ, which is set to take place in Cambridge, with preparations already underway.
