On Tuesday, 27th May 2025, Peachey Stone Lodge No. 5993 was delighted to welcome a new Brother into the Craft. Bro. Alex Underwood was initiated in a heartfelt and dignified ceremony that exemplified the values and traditions of Freemasonry.
What made this occasion particularly special was the rare and distinguished presentation of the First Degree Tracing Board, delivered by RW Bro. Peter Baker, Past Pro Provincial Grand Master. His thoughtful and eloquent explanation of the symbolism contained within the Tracing Board added immense value to the ceremony. This was not only for the benefit of the initiate, but also for Bro. Sabir Ali, who was initiated into the Lodge in February 2025 and was invited to join the presentation, seated prominently in the front row. Such a delivery by a senior and respected Brother is not often witnessed and served to deepen the impact of the initiation and delight of the Brethren.
The Initiation Ceremony itself was executed in exemplary fashion by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Pavandeep Cheema, who presided with confidence and clarity
The celebrations continued at the Festive Board, where the Brethren enjoyed a convivial meal in true Masonic spirit. Adding to the enjoyment of the evening, the Lodge’s Visiting Officer, W. Bro. Stuart Lochtie, PPGReg, entertained the Brethren with a well-told story and a light-hearted joke, both of which were very well received.
It was a night that will be fondly remembered by all in attendance, particularly by our two newest Entered Apprentices, who begin their Masonic journey with such a strong and inspiring start.
