Last year saw the untimely passing of Rose Seaman wife of W. Bro Bob Seaman PProvAGDC, PProv1stAsstGSoj (RA) of St Clair Lodge No 2902. Such moments will show the true feelings of friends in how they might support you when you most need it. Bob and Rose who moved from Heston to Torquay about 9 years ago started a new life in Devon. Bob regularly attended and still does both St Clair Lodge and St Clair Chapter at TDMC. However, with Rose ‘s illness it was difficult for them to attend masonic socials back in Middlesex. So, on the back of an earlier visit in 2024 the members of the Lodge together with their wives and partners showed their ongoing commitment to Bob by a “mass visit” to Torquay to show their masonic support. This took place on the weekend of May 13th to May 15th. Not only that but Bob’s family joined in and added to the numbers enjoying a BBQ on the Saturday night.
All You Can Eat And Talk

After arrival in Torquay Bob’s guests made their way to the local Chinese restaurant where oodles of noodles and more Chinese nosh satisfied any pangs of hunger. A quick crossing of the road outside the restaurant led to Bob’s place and much chit chat was to be had before the welcome masonic guests headed back to local hotels before the Saturday events. Firstly, the main party headed to Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves near Torquay – (https://www.kents-cavern.co.uk/). In the meantime, Bob and W. Bro Colin Roberts prepared the BBQ which all would enjoy later in the day. And so, it was. 35 people including children and grandchildren congregated for the BBQ washed down with copious amounts of liquid nectar. Isn’t this what socials are about? This was fitting tribute to the masonic family supporting Bob and remembering his dearly beloved wife, Rose. Among the Brethren attending were St Clair Lodge members who were also members of St Clair Chapter.

Time To Go Home
After breakfast on the Sunday morning some had to make their way back to their homes whilst some were able to spend some more time in Torquay. Other members of Bob’s extended masonic family including St Marks Lodge of Mark Master Masons No 1 of which Bob is a member, also make special visits to Torquay to give support to Bob and keep him close in their hearts. This is what freemasonry is all about.
W Bro Bob is also active locally in Devon freemasonry being a member of Petitor Lodge No 8234 where his son Robert Jnr is a member and recently proposed a local friend, a Brother Nick Holmes who is an Entered Apprentice. He is currently 3rd Principal in Chapter of St Mary No 5148 and Raphael in Torre Chapter No 599 (Rose Croix).
