Fulcorn Lodge Celebrates a Century of Freemasonry

Fulcorn Lodge No. 4791 marked a remarkable milestone on 30 March 2026 as Brethren gathered to celebrate the Lodge’s Centenary, commemorating 100 years since its consecration on 29 March 1926.

The occasion attracted an exceptional turnout, with every member of the Lodge in attendance alongside a large gathering of visiting Brethren from across the Province. More than 130 Freemasons filled the Temple, creating a memorable atmosphere befitting such a significant landmark in the Lodge’s history.

Leading the Provincial delegation was the Pro Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David I. Allan, accompanied by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Paul Sully, and several senior Provincial officers. Their presence reflected the esteem in which Fulcorn Lodge is held throughout the Province and the importance of reaching this rare and distinguished anniversary.

The centenary ceremony paid tribute to the Lodge’s proud history, its enduring traditions, and the generations of Brethren who have contributed to its success over the past century. A moving address and benediction were delivered by W Bro The Revd Dr Bill Dolman, Provincial Grand Chaplain, while the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Paul Sully, conducted the dedication of a new Lodge banner. The banner serves as a lasting symbol of Fulcorn Lodge’s values, heritage, and continued commitment to Freemasonry.

The Lodge’s principal officers, led by Worshipful Master W Bro Rohit Patel, together with Senior Warden W Bro Jaydrath Patel and Junior Warden W Bro Sanjay Mehta, played a key role in ensuring the celebrations were both dignified and memorable.

Following the ceremony, Brethren gathered for a festive board attended by more than 100 guests. In a fitting tribute to the Lodge’s origins, the menu closely reflected that served at the original consecration banquet a century earlier, providing a unique connection between past and present.

The celebrations also highlighted Fulcorn Lodge’s outstanding support for the Province’s 2031 Festival. Representatives from the Festival team attended the event to present jewels to subscribing contributors, recognising the Lodge’s impressive achievement as one of the first three Lodges in the Province to attain Grand Patron status. During the evening, a cheque for £5,000 was presented to Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro Paul Sully in support of the Province’s fundraising efforts, including the forthcoming Freemasons’ Hall abseil challenge.

As Fulcorn Lodge enters its second century, the centenary celebrations served not only as a reflection on a proud past but also as a testament to a vibrant and thriving future. The occasion will undoubtedly remain a cherished memory for all who attended and stands as a fitting tribute to one hundred years of friendship, service, and Masonic excellence.
