Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Degree Takes on Grand Lodge Abseil for the Middlesex 2031 Festival
The Middlesex 2031 Festival Team is delighted to announce that Worshipful Brother Peter Hyde, Provincial Grand Master of the Mark Degree in Middlesex, has pledged his support for the Festival in a truly spectacular way.
Peter will be joining senior executive members from the Craft and Royal Arch as they undertake the challenge of abseiling down the outside of Freemasons’ Hall in Great Queen Street, London, in aid of the Middlesex 2031 Festival and the invaluable work of the Freemasons Charity.
When approached about taking part in the event, Peter’s response was immediate and unequivocal. Agreeing without hesitation, he remarked that it is everyone’s duty to support the outstanding charitable work carried out by the Freemasons Charity and the many lives it touches throughout the country.
Speaking about the challenge, Peter said:
“The Freemasons Charity does tremendous work, providing support to those in need both within and beyond our fraternity. It is our duty to support that work whenever we can. I am delighted to play my part and would encourage all Mark Lodges in Middlesex to support this endeavour, particularly those with funds available within their Relief Chests.”
Peter was especially pleased to learn that 25% of all monies raised through the Middlesex 2031 Festival will be returned directly to support charitable causes within the Province. This local impact is something he feels should inspire all Middlesex Freemasons to get involved.
“Many charities across Middlesex are facing increasing demands at a time when resources are stretched. Knowing that a significant proportion of the funds raised will come back into our communities makes this cause even more important. We all have a responsibility to do what we can to help those organisations that provide such vital support.”
The Festival Team is immensely grateful for Peter’s enthusiasm and commitment. His willingness to step over the edge of Freemasons’ Hall demonstrates not only courage, but also the spirit of service and charity that lies at the heart of Freemasonry.
Further details of the event, including how brethren, companions, families and friends can support Peter and the Middlesex 2031 Festival, can be found on the Provincial website.
The Festival Team wishes Peter and all participants the very best of luck as they prepare to take the plunge in support of this worthy cause.
