The Masonic Exhibition Team proudly took part in the Hillingdon Fire Station Open Day on Sunday 8th June, showcasing Freemasonry in the heart of the community.
Lead volunteer Bill Ryan, along with Richard Emerton and Deepak Damodar, did a fantastic job setting up the stand and gazebo, ensuring our presence was visible and welcoming. Thanks to some cooperative weather, we were even able to dry out a few items from the previous day’s successful outing at the Mayor’s Picnic.
The event drew a fantastic crowd, with over 500 visitors attending throughout the day. Positioned close to the popular fire engine experience, we had the opportunity to engage directly with families and share more about Freemasonry as children collected balloons and parents stopped to chat.
Our volunteers were kept busy answering a wide range of questions from the public — many expressing appreciation for the charitable work Freemasons do locally and nationally. Notably, three individuals were so inspired by what they learned that they filled out Expression of Interest forms on the spot.
As the afternoon progressed, the team was delighted to be joined by Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master John Leggett, who brought treats and warm thanks for the team’s efforts in representing the Province.
The day wrapped up smoothly at 5:30 pm, with the stand packed away and the gazebo returned to Cole Court. It was another strong example of Freemasonry’s commitment to openness, community involvement, and the values we proudly uphold.
A big thank you to Bill, Richard, and Deepak for their time, energy, and enthusiasm!
