Three members of the Exhibition Team represented the Province at the St George’s Day Parade which took place on Sunday 27th April at Whitton. Arriving early to set up the Provincial Gazebo all was in place for a day of sunshine. Other Community groups were represented and there were food outlets as well as music stages. The Grand Parade began at 12.00pm with many vintage cars, motorbikes and scooters taking part.
The Brethren representing freemasonry in Middlesex were Richard Emerton, Martin Voles and Mike Emmett who answered questions about freemasonry and gave pamphlets to interested persons to read at their leisure. Altogether a busy day for the team and there were enquiries in earnest and Expression of Interest Forms were completed for follow ups to be made later.
On these occasions freemasons from other areas or countries just happen to pass by and are always willing to stop and have some banter. There was such a visitor from the Grand Lodge of Queensland in Australia; one W. Bro Roy English a Grand Sword Bearer from Brisbane. Anecdotes were exchanged and no doubt he went back to Australia with a suitable impression of Middlesex freemasonry.
Later in the day the team was joined by W. Bro John Leggett who treated everybody to Hot Dogs including team leader, Keith Gregory.
After a busy day of labour and toil all was dismantled ready for the next “Road Show”.
