On the day of the Army v Navy Rugby Union game at Twickenham which was held on Saturday 3rd May at TDMC, the Provincial Ambassadorial Team which comprised Keith Watson, Deepek Damodar and Jim Owens, set up their Ambassador’s Gazebo on the lawn at Cole Court. Given that many of those arriving to participate in Corporate hospitality were likely to be male and of the full age of eighteen years, there was a distinct possibility that it might be a good platform for introducing Middlesex freemasonry.

The Gazebo was pitched in a good position at the top of the path leading into the Cole Court bar area and as a result, there was a steady stream of people passing the stand on their way to enjoy the facilities. There were many good conversations with people who had travelled from all parts of the country to attend the Army and Navy match, with quite a few of them already being freemasons. The team handed out quite a bit of masonic stationery throughout the day. To add a bit of lightness to the day a fellow freemason from Cadogan Lodge No 8965 in the Province of Berkshire turned up with other Berkshire freemasons, family and friends dressed as Minions. They are an all-male species of small yellow character from the animated film comedy series Despicable Me. Each year for this particular Rugby Game Mark Eaton and his friends choose a fancy dress for the day.

All in all, a very pleasant day was had on the lawn at Cole Court, and hopefully a few inquiries will be seen in the near future from the information that was handed out.
