A Memorable Meeting at Pearl of Africa Lodge No 9052
Ed: The Media Team is always pleased to have special moments shared with other members of the Province. Pearl of Africa Lodge had one such special moment which slipped through the net. However, this should not be nullified because of mishap and even though the meeting has long since passed it will still have a poignancy for those who participated and we are now pleased to share the story with you.
On Wednesday, 25th March 2026, Pearl of Africa Lodge No 9052 was delighted to pass three of its Entered Apprentices, Bro Jagdish Devji, Bro Kanesh Gandhi and Bro Robin Kanjilal to the second degree in the PMK temple at Harrow District Masonic Centre. The ceremony was conducted efficiently to a high standard with excellent support from the Officers, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for the 70 attendees that included 32 visitors. The atmosphere throughout was one of harmony and respect.
The Lodge also had the privilege of an official visit from our Visiting Officer, W. Bro David Blithing. A particularly memorable feature of the meeting was the presence of 17 visitors from two Lodges in Romania, Aurel Lazar Lodge No 481 located in Oradea and Sothis Lodge No 205 located in Bucharest. These visitors were warmly welcomed and their participation contributed greatly to the warmth and spirit of the meeting. Their attendance added a special international dimension to the occasion, strengthening the bonds of friendship and brotherhood that Freemasonry so strongly promotes across borders. Both the Lodges made official presentation plaques and certificates unifying the bond between Pearl of Africa Lodge and their Lodges.
Following the formal proceedings, the brethren retired to the Bar where the drinks were sponsored by three members of the Pearl of Africa Lodge who had recently become grandfathers for the first time.
The Festive Board proved to be a most enjoyable and memorable occasion. The evening was filled with good humour, engaging conversation, and a strong sense of fellowship. The presence of our Romanian visitors further enhanced the convivial atmosphere, as stories and experiences were shared across cultures, reinforcing the true spirit of unity and friendship. It was a fitting conclusion to an excellent meeting and one that will be fondly remembered by all who were present.
