Peachey Stone Steps Up for Alzheimer’s

On Saturday 17th May 2025, a dedicated team of Middlesex Masons representing Peachey Stone Lodge No. 5993, proudly took part in the Alzheimer’s Society’s Trek 26 London Challenge, completing an impressive 13-mile walk through the heart of the capital in support of those affected by dementia.

The team – comprising W Bro Alan Tuomey, W Bro Kashmira Singh Mann, Bro Sabir Ali, and W Bro Stephen Otter – joined hundreds of other participants as they set off on a scenic and symbolic route. The walk wound its way through central London, offering the brethren a chance to take in many of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, and the Tower of London, before turning westward along the banks of the River Thames.

This event was not only a test of endurance but a heartfelt demonstration of the Lodge’s ongoing commitment to charitable giving – a cornerstone of Freemasonry. The Peachey Stone Lodge team has already raised in excess of £1,000, contributing to the overall event total which currently stands at £610,000 – a remarkable sum which will go directly towards funding vital support services and research initiatives led by the Alzheimer’s Society.

While the trek is complete, donations are still coming in, and the team is hopeful that their final total will rise even further in the coming weeks. Their efforts exemplify the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth, and serve as an inspiring example of Freemasonry in action within the wider community.

Peachey Stone Lodge extends its sincere thanks to all those who have supported the team through sponsorship and encouragement and encourages brethren across the Province and beyond to consider taking part in similar events, helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those living with dementia.

Well done to the team for their fantastic effort and for upholding the spirit of Freemasonry with every step.

Thank you, Stephen Otter, for this Story.
