Recognition For Long Service

Pearl of Africa Lodge No. 9052 recently witnessed the presentation of Long Service Certificates for two of its brethren, who combined have completed more than 110 years of service within the District of East Africa.

W. Bro Prakash Thakkar, who was initiated into Harry Boazman Lodge No 7671 on 20th June 1967 and W. Bro Subhash Shah who was initiated into Orient Lodge No 3703 on 8th June 1968, were presented with their certificates by W. Bro. Sushil Radia who also provided details of their Masonic history to the brethren. W. Bro. Radia presented the certificates at the request of the District Grand Master of East Africa, R. W. Bro. Dr, Virendra K Talwar.

In addition to their service to the District of East Africa, Middlesex has also benefitted from their commitment to freemasonry. W. Bro. Thakkar was a Founding member of Pearl of Africa Lodge in September 1982, with W. Bro. Shah joining in March 1985. Both have served as Worshipful Master of the Lodge and have been recognised through the award of Provincial rank, with W. Bro. Thakkar being appointed Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer and W. Bro. Shah Past Provincial Grand Registrar, both appointments being made in 2017.
