On Saturday 27th May 2025, Greystoke Lodge was proud to pass not one, but three of its Entered Apprentices in a ceremony that was both impressive and heart-warming. The trio—Brothers Steven Brickell, Harry Joslin, and Dario Celaschi—were affectionately referred to as The Three Musketeers, a fitting nickname originally coined by our former Visiting Officer, W. Bro. Bill Ryan, who graciously took the role of Senior Warden for the meeting.
Each Brother brings a unique connection to the Lodge:
- Bro. Steven Brickell is a close friend of the Immediate Past Master, W. Bro. Greg Keene, and has shown great enthusiasm for his Masonic journey.
- Bro. Harry Joslin, son of the Lodge’s Senior Warden, W. Bro. Richard Joslin, was Passed by none other than his father, who assumed the Master’s Chair for the day. Adding to the familial sense of occasion, the Director of Ceremonies was Harry’s uncle, W. Bro. Michael Joslin.
- Bro. Dario Celaschi came to us via the Provincial Membership Team and has quickly embraced the spirit and camaraderie of Freemasonry.
All three candidates were entrusted together in a fine example of Masonic unity, then individually obligated before reuniting for the second part of the ceremony, including the presentation of the Tracing Board.
We were also delighted to welcome Bro. Sam Frampton of Wilson-Iles Lodge No. 2054 (Province of Hertfordshire), who has become a familiar face at both our Lodge and Chapter. Having enjoyed his visits, Bro. Frampton took the step of joining Greystoke Lodge officially—and most helpfully volunteered to act as Inner Guard for the evening.
In further good news for the Lodge, another prospective candidate—also referred by the Provincial Membership Team—was successfully balloted for and will be initiated at our September meeting.
It was a wonderful evening that celebrated brotherhood, family, and the future of the Craft. Our thanks go to W. Bro. Geoff Stuttaford for compiling the account of the meeting.
