But there are only three in the photo. Yes, but there are no paradoxes in the Royal Arch, but those who know will know.
On the 24th April 2025 at HDMC Centre with Unity Chapter No 1637 having exalted three new Companions into the Royal Arch in one ceremony broke new ground for the Royal Arch in Middlesex, a first in the long history of the Province. What is important is that these Master Masons from different Lodges have come together to complete the journey that started with their first Craft degree. An Exaltation is in itself an occasion to celebrate. A double even more so. But a triple exaltation is beyond any expectations and the members of the Chapter, especially those who have proposed and seconded these new Companions, can pat themselves on the back. It really is a remarkable endeavour considering that there is no specific feeder Lodge into Centre with Unity Chapter. Each individual Exaltee came from a Lodge meeting at Harrow: Fulcorn Lodge No 4791, Sudbury Lodge No 4529 and Roxeth Lodge No 6905.
Such an occasion demands a good turnout, and the 15 members of the Chapter attending was complemented by 18 visiting Companions. The Principals, E. Comps Rohit Patel (MEZ), Felix Matthew-Brown (H) and George Wood (J) were ably assisted by the other Officers which included the Chapter VO, E. Comp Malcolm Johnstone, acting as Principal Sojourner, which is one of the most rewarding jobs in freemasonry when it is done with panache and without hesitation. All in all, the ceremony was thoroughly enjoyed by the visitors and many comments of commendation were received.
The Royal Arch is a vital part of our journey and experience in freemasonry and each Chapter must consider how it will grow for the future. Centre with Unity Chapter has shown what is possible even without a feeder Lodge option at this time, which gives more reason to work on this aspect and identify Lodges where Master Masons can complete their masonic quest by joining the Royal Arch.
