Supporting a Vital Community Charity: Michael Sobell Hospice

Michael Sobell Hospice remains one of the most valued and widely recognised charities within our Province, providing compassionate care and support to individuals living with serious or terminal illness. Its mission—to help people live their final days in comfort, dignity, and on their own terms—continues to resonate deeply across the local community.

Freemasons throughout the area are proud to support the hospice, not only through financial contributions but also by giving their time to assist with fundraising initiatives. The hospice benefits from a strong network of volunteers and local businesses, whose ongoing generosity highlights just how important this service is to so many families.

W Bro Bobby Roy of Herga Lodge 2548 recently reinforced this commitment through a donation of £500 as part of his Master’s List. This contribution will help ensure the hospice can continue delivering its vital services to those who need them most.

W Bro Roy also noted the significant role his wife plays as a volunteer fundraiser, working closely with local businesses that consistently show their support for the hospice’s work. Such combined efforts demonstrate the powerful impact of community collaboration.

This donation reflects the enduring values of Freemasonry—charity, compassion, and service—while helping to sustain an organisation that provides comfort and care at life’s most challenging moments.
