A Family’s Journey, A Call for Support

Help Beatrice’s Family Give Back

W. Bro Gerry Inow, Chairman of the Harrow Masonic Centre, recently visited Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice during a special “Family Day” – not only in his capacity as a Freemason, but as a grandfather.

He was there with his granddaughter, Beatrice – a remarkable young girl who, at just two years old, has already shown the kind of strength most of us can only imagine. Beatrice was diagnosed with leukaemia in early 2024. Thanks to the expert care and unwavering support from the incredible team at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), she was given all clear after 5 months and rang the bell to signify the closure of treatment and her return to good health.

Her father, Oliver – Gerry’s son – has taken on a challenge of his own: he’s running the 2025 London Marathon to raise vital funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It’s his way of giving back to the hospital that saved his daughter’s life and to help support other families who find themselves facing the same terrifying journey.

Oliver writes:

“You hear the words ‘I’m sorry, your daughter has leukaemia’ and your world just stops. But from the moment we arrived at Great Ormond Street, we were wrapped in care, compassion, and expertise. We are some of the lucky ones – Beatrice has recovered. Now, we want to pay it forward.”

His heartfelt story is a reminder of how fragile life is, but also of the power of community, resilience, and love. Oliver and his wife Fiona want to ensure more children like Beatrice have the same chance of recovery. Their goal is to support the building of a new Cancer Centre at GOSH – a place of hope for future families.

How Middlesex Freemasons Can Help

Beatrice has a Just Giving Page set up for donations

and it would be truly wonderful if Middlesex Freemasons could come together to support this worthy cause. Whether it’s a donation, sharing their story, or offering a word of encouragement – every bit helps.

Let us rally behind W. Bro Gerry, Oliver, and brave little Beatrice, and demonstrate what Freemasonry is all about – compassion, charity, and brotherly love.

Together, we can make a difference.
