Freemasonry on Display at the Brentford Festival

On September 1st, the Middlesex Masonic Exhibition Team had the privilege of participating in the Brentford Festival, held at Blondin Park, London. The event provided an excellent opportunity for Freemasons to engage with the community and raise awareness about the values and practices of Freemasonry.

The Exhibition Team

Four dedicated Ambassadors represented Middlesex Freemasons at the festival: Warren Gell (APGM), Richard Emerton, David Blithing, and Keith Gregory. The day began bright and early, with Warren arriving on site at 8:00 AM to set up the exhibition equipment, ensuring everything was in place before the others arrived.

The team’s efforts were well rewarded with a day of great weather and a steady flow of visitors. Warren also kept spirits high by treating the team to coffee and bacon rolls, followed by additional refreshments throughout the day. With the festival officially opening at noon, attendees were treated to a variety of stalls, live music, and delicious food, all under a warm afternoon sun, with temperatures peaking at 28°C.

Engaging the Public

Throughout the day, the Masonic stand attracted interest from both men and women curious about Freemasonry. Many took away leaflets and contact information, expressing a desire to learn more. Children were delighted with the “Teddies for Loving Care” balloons, a charitable initiative by Freemasons. One overseas Mason even stopped by to gather details about visiting a local lodge during his stay in the UK.

A Successful Day for Freemasonry

As the event wound down, Keith Gregory joined Richard Emerton and David Blithing to pack up the stand. By 6:00 PM, the team had successfully completed their mission, and all agreed it was a fun and fulfilling day. The Exhibition Team was proud to present Freemasonry to the public in such an engaging and enjoyable setting.

Join the Exhibition Team

Keith Gregory, the event organiser, encourages Middlesex Masons to consider joining the Exhibition Team. The team works to raise awareness of Freemasonry and help those interested in learning more about the fraternity. It’s a rewarding experience that allows members to meet the public and share the Masonic story in a friendly and informal setting.
