At the February 21stmeeting of Byron Lodge No 7426 Pauline Patten, a member of the Harrow Masonic Centre Catering Team was presented with flowers, chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco in recognition of her long standing commitment to the Harrow District Masonic Centre (HDMC).
Pauline began working at Harrow at the tender age of 21 when she started in 1988 making it 37 years of service to freemasonry in Harrow. No doubt she has seen the ebb and flow of old and new masons during her time serving.
Pauline was once serving over 60 masons at HDMC, when one fellow clicked his fingers for her attention. This is not to be recommended and although Pauline’s bark is worse than her bite, she takes no prisoners and we can assume that the culprit was suitably chastised and repented of his error
She joked that husband Michael is happy that she is out most weekends, and said that during the Covid period, when she was furloughed, he suggested she get a driving job.
Pauline has a special place in her heart for freemasons which is testified by her longevity at Harrow. Asked why she hadn’t looked elsewhere in the hospitality sector for a better paid job; she remarked that she had been so happy at HDMC and there was no reason to look elsewhere for work.
So, remember the advice. No clicking of fingers for service as no prisoners are taken.
The editorial team send their congratulations to Pauline for her long service and commitment and wish her many more happy years ahead.
