St Georges Day on Sunday 26th April at Whitton High Street Twickenham

On a lovely sunny day, Mike Emmett and Richard Emerton loaded up the car at Cole Court before arriving at Whitton High Street at 9 am to meet the third member of the group, Martin Voles. We were then directed to our allocated spot, halfway down the High Street outside Superdrug. In previous years we had been positioned nearer the end of the High Street, but being in the centre gave the team a definite advantage.

The parade started at 12 noon and, as usual, featured a great display of vintage cars, motorcycles, scooters, and a number of army vehicles representing various organisations. There were also groups from different Whitton community organisations, including the Scouts. Visitors could enjoy a wide choice of food outlets, a variety of stalls, and a stage providing live music throughout the day.
There was also a great deal of discussion, particularly as the new cards featuring the QR code were handed out. We gained the impression that more people are becoming aware of Freemasonry, especially our presence in Middlesex.

During the afternoon, Keith Gregory arrived with ice creams, which were very well received. We also welcomed visits from other Masons, including John Leggett, our Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, who had also taken part in the parade and bought the Team burgers before finally closing the stand at 6 pm and returning to Cole Court.

Attached is a photograph showing those who attended the day, from left to right: Martin Voles, Richard Emerton, Keith Gregory, Mike Emmett, and John Leggett.
