A Celebration to Last throughout the years!

On the memorable evening of 4th March 2025, Felix Lodge no 1494, fresh from celebrating its 150th anniversary, hosted an exceptional white table event at Cole Court. The occasion was not only a celebration of Freemasonry but a heartwarming gathering of family and friends, bringing generations together in harmony.

The evening began with a short Lodge meeting, during which two members were congratulated for their provincial preferments. W Bro Thomas Arkhurst, remarkably spry at 93, was elevated to PPrGSuptWks, and W Bro Harry Lipman, aged 78, received his first appointment to PPrJGD. Following these congratulations, the Lodge was formally closed, and the officers remained in their regalia as the doors of the temple opened to welcome guests.

Lodge Secretary Graham Alexander,  PPGSuptWks  delivered a captivating explanation of Freemasonry’s history and the roles of the Lodge officers, creating a sense of awe among the attendees, which included three generations of the Alexander family. W Bro Robert Alexander, a young and dynamic WM aged just 27, stood alongside his father, Graham, the Lodge Secretary, and his grandmother, Wendy.

The absence of Graham’s father, W Bro Kenneth Alexander, who had passed to the Grand Lodge above just shy of his 50-year milestone, was poignantly felt.

During the festivities, a heartfelt moment was dedicated to W Bro Clive Jarvis PPSGW, who had loyally Tyled for Felix Lodge since 1999 but recently stepped down due to health reasons. A set of solid silver Masonic Tyler cufflinks was presented to Clive, commemorating his 25+ years of distinguished service.

The night’s pinnacle was the celebration of W Bro Harry Lipman’s 50-year Masonic journey. Supported by his wife, Marion, and children Deborah, Richard, and Michael, Harry received his certificate amidst a detailed recounting of his family, professional, and Masonic achievements. His heartfelt response touched everyone present, earning him a standing ovation.
