W. Bro Howard Hughes provides this report on the Meeting of the Provincial Junior Wardens Club held at the Royal Air Force Club, Piccadilly on the 30th July 2024.
“Fine dining at the RAF Club in London was the order of the day for the annual lunch of the Province’s Junior Wardens Club. The Club has 24 members all who have held the Active Office of Provincial Junior Grand Warden in Middlesex. This includes such luminaries as our Past Pro PGM Roger Croome and current Pro PGM David Allan.
Each year the new Provincial Junior Grand Warden is welcomed into the Club. This year it was the turn of W Bro Paul Doran who was invested at the Provincial Grand Lodge meeting in May.
It turns out that W Bro Paul and his family are avid fans of “Bake Off”. They had been cheering on a team from the RAF Club who had made it through to the finals of Bake Off: The Professionals. Pastry Chef Gerol and Executive Chef Michael were runners up in that final, a most impressive performance. Paul asked if Gerol and Michael were in and was delighted to be taken through to meet them. That really made his day.
