Active Officers BBQ 2024

This year’s Active Middlesex Provincial Grand Officers and their partners assembled at Cole Court in Twickenham this evening for a delightful BBQ, personally invited by the Pro Provincial Grand Master, David Allan. After enduring weeks of dreadful inclement weather, the day finally offered a warm evening, perfect for an outdoor gathering on the lawn.

The centre caterers excelled in their culinary duties, presenting a superbly cooked and diverse spread that pleased all palates. Approximately 85 guests were seated, enjoying the food and wine amidst an atmosphere filled with camaraderie and enjoyment. The scent of grilled meats and freshly prepared dishes filled the air, enticing everyone to partake in the feast. The wine flowed freely, complementing the delicious food and adding to the convivial atmosphere. Guests engaged in lively conversations, sharing stories and laughter that echoed across the lawn, creating a joyous and memorable event.

After the meal, the Pro Provincial Grand Master took a moment to address the attendees. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the active officers for their dedication and hard work throughout the year. His speech highlighted not only their visible roles in escorting the Assistant Provincial Grand Masters on their visits but also the essential behind-the-scenes efforts that ensure the province operates smoothly. His words of appreciation resonated with everyone, earning him a warm round of applause.

To commemorate this wonderful occasion, everyone gathered for a group photo. The photo session was a highlight, capturing the essence of the evening and the strong sense of community among the officers and their partners. Smiles and laughter abounded as the group came together for this memorable snapshot.

Additionally, the Pro Provincial Grand Master took this opportunity to honour Worshipful Brother John Leggett, the retiring Assistant Provincial Grand Master. He presented W. Bro. John with a beautiful paperweight, a token of appreciation for his dedicated service. In his brief resume of W. Bro. John’s Masonic career, the Pro Provincial Grand Master highlighted his significant contributions and the impact he had on the province. This touching moment added a layer of heartfelt acknowledgment and celebration to the evening.

As the event wound down, guests gradually began to drift off, taking with them the warm memories of a delightful evening spent in good company. Many expressed their gratitude for the excellent organisation and the superb food, while others simply cherished the opportunity to unwind and socialise in such a pleasant setting.

The BBQ at Cole Court was more than just a meal; it was a celebration of dedication, hard work, and community spirit. The warm evening, delicious food, and heartfelt speeches made it a night to remember. The strong bonds and mutual respect among the Middlesex Provincial Grand Officers were evident throughout the evening, reinforcing the sense of pride and accomplishment shared by all.
