Monday, September 2nd where better to be than in the hallowed halls of Cole Court, Twickenham Masonic Centre, and Brent Valley Lodge 3940, where the new Masonic season kicked off with grandeur.

The lodge was opened in due form by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. Kurt Logue and the first order of business was a heartfelt eulogy for the late W. Bro. Brian Guyett PGStB, PProvGDC. This touching tribute was delivered by W. Bro. Peter Collis PPJGW, the Lodge Director of Ceremonies, who was also a close friend of Brian’s. After that, we all took a moment of silence to honour our dear departed brother.

The meeting then proceeded with the usual formalities leading up to the installation of our new Worshipful Master. Bro. Keith Penny, the Master Elect, was installed into the chair of King Solomon according to ancient custom by W. Bro Kurt Logue.

The working tools were presented in all three degrees by various brethren of the lodge, proving that teamwork really does make the dream work.

With the officers appointed and invested, it was time for the addresses. W. Bro John Wood PProvAGDC of Great Lights Lodge 8084 took on the role of motivational speaker, giving the address to the Master, the address to the Wardens, given by W. Bro Niall Corbett PPGSuptWks, while VW Bro Jim Mitchell, PGSwdB, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, an honorary member of the lodge, gave a rousing address to the brethren.

The evening concluded with an excellent Festive Board, where good food, great banter, and the Master’s Song filled the air.
